Pinwheels (September 2014)

This quilt for Katie's daughter Chloe is the first one I was really, really proud of.  For this pink "Pinwheel Jungle" quilt, I used fabrics from Michael Miller's It's a Girl Thing collection.  I used Chevy Chevron Girl, Contemporary Florals Flower Shower Petal Pink, and Play Dot in Bloom/Gray to construct the pinwheels, which I learned how to do in Quilting Quickly.

I broke away from stitch in the ditch for the quilting.  I still did straight lines, but I criss-crossed the quilt to create a diamond pattern. I was still too afraid to move away from my walking foot.

For the back, I used Michael Miller's Zoology in pink  :
